盒子查尔斯·勒克莱尔想远离“滴答”Ferrari F1

Charles Leclerc said he one day hopes to compete for Ferrari in the 24 Hours of Le Mans having watched his team win the 2023 edition.

Leclerc was trackside as the #51 car of Ferrari marked the team’s return to the 24-hour race with victory, Ferrari’s eighth as a team and first since 1965.

The car was driven by Leclerc’s current F1 reserve team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi alongside Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado and it is clear Leclerc was not just in Le Mans to support his team.

Speaking after Ferrari’s victory was confirmed, Leclerc said he wants to one day “tick that box” of a Le Mans race in Ferrari colours.

“Why not? I would love to,” he told Eurosport. “It’s an incredible event for sure. One day in my life, I want to tick that box.

“When will it be? I don’t know but I am extremely proud of what Ferrari has done today, it’s been great.”

If Leclerc were to compete in the competition he could join the likes of current F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Nico Hülkenberg as winners of the prestigious event.

But first Leclerc was happy to be a fan, praising the winning team whilst also commiserating the second Ferrari car who had a costly incident during the race.

“Having a Ferrari winning is incredible after its return after so many years so [it’s] a very special edition,” the 25-year-old said.

“Unlucky for the second Ferrari as we had a small impact so only had one radiator. So that made us lose a lot of time but I was here to support and I’m really happy anyway that Ferrari won and it was an incredible experience.”

While it was a success for Ferrari’s Le Mans team, things have been less easy going on the F1 side of their operation with the SF-23 continuing to be a tricky car to fully understand.

Speaking after his P11 in Barcelona, Leclerc said he was unsure why the car was “undriveable”.

“I don’t understand what we are doing wrong, but we are doing something wrong,” he said.

“I had so many moments and even during the first red flag [in qualifying], I nearly lost it and put it in the gravel in the left hand corner and this was just very, very weird behaviour, so we’ll have to check the car.

“Even in the tricky conditions of this [FP3] I was feeling really good with the car. So there’s something off.”
