Audi continue F1 recruitment drive with number of key positions listed

Audi have continued their efforts to be ready for their 2026 arrival on the grid by listing a number of employee vacancies.

The German manufacturer will enter the sport as a power unit supplier and also as the strategic partner of Sauber with the Swiss team being rebranded with the four rings.

Even three years out, work is well underway to prepare Audi for their first foray into the F1 world and Oliver Hoffmann, member of the board of management for technical development at Audi AG, said at last month’s Auto Shanghai that “the foundation of our drivetrain for 2026 is being laid today.”

Audi also confirmed that a prototype Formula 1 engine will run on the test bench later this year.

It is not just in the resource department where the German marque are stepping up their efforts but also in personnel with Audi now advertising for a number of key roles.

“Regarding recruitment, what we need to recognise is the Formula 1 project for Audi Sport here in Neuburg, it’s an important transformation project,” Baker said.

“This means we benefited from taking around 200 highly qualified staff over from within Audi Sport into Formula 1. So this is obviously a huge boost for our ramp-up phase.

“Here in the region, we also have access to literally 1,000s of tech experts who are involved in the automotive industry here working for Audi or for suppliers.

“But to ensure we will be competitive in 2026, we want to accelerate our learning phase as much as possible and part of that strategy is an aggressive recruitment programme. So far, we’ve contracted around 50 technical experts to join us here, including from some of our competitors.”
