Max Verstappen triggered a rather awkward turn in the post-Belgian GP press conference when asked what his plans were for the summer break.

Verstappen signed-off for Formula 1’s summer shutdown in ideal fashion as he recorded a further dominant victory in this F1 2023 campaign.

From P6 on the grid, having dropped five spots due to a gearbox change, Verstappen went on to win the Belgian Grand Prix by a margin of over 22 seconds from Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez.

That was Verstappen’s eighth win in a row and tenth of the season which he is utterly dominating, while this latest triumph at Spa-Francorchamps was also his third Belgian Grand Prix win in a row.

After securing that achievement then, Verstappen, along with Perez and P3 finisher, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, wandered off to meet the media for press conference duties.

There the trio were asked by media including PlanetF1.com about their plans for the next four weeks as Formula 1 personnel enjoy some downtime before the season resumes with the Dutch Grand Prix on August 27, Verstappen’s home race.

While Perez plans to get some golfing in and Leclerc will be spending time with family and friends, Verstappen will be doing “a lot of cardio and a lot of wrist training” ahead of the season resuming.

Verstappen would then, in response to an outburst of laughter, jokingly add: “No not what you think it is. You’re a dirty man.”

Verstappen is now well on his way to a third World Championship in a row, his lead at the top of thestandingsover Perez now at a mammoth 125 points.

Red Bull meanwhile are now 256 points clear of their nearest rivals in the Constructors’ Championship Mercedes after Verstappen gave them their record-extending 13th grand prix win in a row, with Perez completing the Belgium one-two.
