Tsunoda hoping to ‘absorb a lot’ from Gasly

Yuki Tsunoda says that he’s hoping to learn a lot fromPierre Gasly在他们婚后的第一年,他预计a tough team-mate.

2021 will be Tsunoda’s rookie season in Formula 1 as he has been called up to replace Daniil Kvyat atAlphaTauri.

Given this, Tsunoda expects a tough challenge from across the garage and is hoping to pick some things up from the Frenchman as he gets to grips with the series.

“I want to stick to my driving style at least until the middle of the season and deepen my understanding of F1 cars while exploring the limits because I can make mistakes,” he toldas-web.jp.

“My team-mate is tough and I don’t think it will be easy for me, so I want to absorb a lot from him. I would like to clarify how well my current driving works and what I am lacking, and in the end, I want to get results.

“Specifically, of course, I would like to aim for victory and podium, but I would just like to get as many points as possible for the team.”

Tsunoda will be one of four new faces on the grid in 2021, with Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher joining Haas and Fernando Alonso making his return with Renault.

When asked which drivers he’s most excited about competing against, Tsunoda picked out the Spaniard and Lewis Hamilton, both of whom he remembers watching at the Japanese Grand Prix when he was younger.

“I would like to fight with Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Fernando Alonso,” he added.

“Especially Hamilton and Alonso, who I saw at Fuji Speedway when I was seven or eight years old. I am happy to be able to fight with such drivers.”

Tsunoda’s promotion came after a hugely impressive season in Formula 2, and many within Red Bull are optimistic that he’ll be the biggest success to come from the young driver programme since Verstappen.
