It was a near perfect weekend for the Sainz family as Sainz Snr’s Extreme E team enjoyed a successful Saturday with victory in the Grand Final. A few hours later and Sainz Jnr secured the fifth pole position of his career putting him in good stead for Sunday’s race.

While the Extreme E team could only manage fourth, Sainz Jnr duly converted his pole into a second career win and his father watched him cross the line.

In a video posted by the Extreme E team, Sainz Snr cheered as his son won the race before hugging his team.

He then gave a rallying cry to his team, saying “now let’s go out and win the f**ing redemption race” although that was not to be.
