Daniil Kvyat sees himself as a "living example" to Pierre Gasly that a driver can recover at Red Bull.

Toro Rossowill announce their 2020 driver line up after Mexico with Franz Tost saying he hopes to retain Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly.

Kvyat returned to the F1 grid this seasonwith Toro Rosso after a year out which he spent as Ferrari’s reserve driver.

But while his season began with Alexander Albon as his team-mate, it will end with Gasly after the Frenchman – like Kyvat in the past – was demoted from Red Bull down to Toro Rosso.

Gasly, though, seems to have refound his lost form at Toro Rosso and has bagged three top-ten results for the team. In those same five races, Kvyat has managed just one.

And with Red Bull already making it clear thatthey are likely to stick with Albon next season, Tost says he’d be happy retaining Kvyat and Gasly.

“It makes my life a lot easier because they already know a lot,” the Toro Rosso team boss toldAutoHebdo.

“I don’t have to teach them anything.

“Maybe they went to Red Bull a little too early?

“I often say that I find it ideal to work with a driver over a three-year period.

“We’ll see what Red Bull decides for next year; both are very fast and we are very satisfied with their work.

“Personally, I hope that Daniil and Pierre will continue with us in 2020.

“The choice should be announced at the end of October, after the Mexican Grand Prix.”
