As the Goodwood Festival of Speed gets underway at the famous British venue, McLaren have announced a comprehensive list of machinery and drivers…

The Goodwood Festival of Speed gets started on Thursday, 13th of July, with plenty of attractions for F1 fans heading along over the course of the four-day event.

Cars from all eras of Formula 1 are being shipped in for the event, with the Lotus 25 and 49, McLaren’s championship-winning MP4-14 and MP4-23, Mercedes’ W02, the Williams FW14B, FW19, and the current FW45 all on display.

McLaren fans in for a treat

The Festival will be an absolute treat for any McLaren fan, as the British team are celebrating their 60th anniversary year by rewarding their home fans with an absolute deluge of machinery and stars to drive their cars up the hill.

McLaren kick off their Thursday showcasing the Austin 7 owned by team founder Bruce McLaren, with famed designer Neil Oatley at the wheel.

The M7C-01 will be driven by James Hanson and the M8D-01 by Emma Gilmour.

Later runs will see Emerson Fittipaldi jump in the McLaren M23, Tanner Foust at the wheel of an MP4-2, and Rob Garofall driving the MP4-4.

The action continues on Friday with Gil De Ferran driving an M16C, Emanuele Pirro in the MP4-2, and the day topped off by Bruno Senna climbing behind the wheel of a McLaren MP4-4, the most dominant car in F1 history that was driven by Alain Prost and his uncle Ayrton.

On Saturday, McLaren boss Zak Brown will drive the Austin 7, while Lando Norris will thrill the home crowd fresh from his second-place finish at Silverstone last weekend. The 23-year-old will drive an M26 up the hill, while Martin Brundle will take the wheel of an MP4-2A.

Senna will be on track as well, as will 90s F1 racer JJ Lehto in the McLaren MP4-23, while Mika Hakkinen reunites with his 1999 championship-winning MP4-14.

Sunday will have a full schedule for McLaren, with plenty of opportunities to see Fittipaldi, De Ferran, Pirro, Senna, Hakkinen, and Lehto during the day, while current McLaren star Oscar Piastri will drive the M26.
