Formula 1 drivers take huge risks by going racing in their 200mph machines, so it’s no surprise they are very well paid for the jobs they do…

F1 driver salaries make them some of the world’s most highly-paid athletes, due to their willingness to stare danger in the face every time they strap themselves into their car to go to battle.

Racing across the globe with over 20+ races a year, some of the drivers with longer careers have managed to carve out some eye-watering figures for their net worth – particularly if they’re canny about their money and plump for investments or ventures outside of the F1 sphere.

Below, PlanetF1.com looks at the 10 Formula 1 drivers with the highest net worth on the 2023 grid.

Lewis Hamilton – £270.9m

Daniel Ricciardo – £41.6m

Australian driver, Daniel Ricciardo, reached the Formula 1 circuit through Red Bull’s young driver programme, initially racing with now-defunct outfit HRT before moving to Toro Rosso.

He was promoted to the senior F1 team in 2014 and scored three wins in his first year.

After leaving Red Bull in 2018 for a stint with Renault, Daniel continued his Formula 1 career with McLaren in 2021.

With limited success at the Woking-based squad, Daniel failed to secure a new deal for the 2023 season but came back onto the grid with AlphaTauri after Nyck de Vries was dropped before the summer break. His net worth is reportedly £41.6 million.
