Robert Kubica has completed his first day for Williams at the Abu Dhabi post-season test and racked up 100 laps in the process.

The Pole finished eighth quickest with a best time of 1:41.296 on soft tyres at the Yas Marina circuit before he gave the Williams car over to Lance Stroll for the last couple of hours of the day.

Kubica covered over 500km of the track and completed several long runs in the process. He will get another couple of hours in the car on Wednesday when the two-day test draws to a close.

Williams are believed to be happy with what they have seen so far from Kubica, who is set to run on the new hypersofts in his second session.

Kubica is strong favourite to replace Felipe Massa at Williams next season with Sergey Sirotkin, as in action on Wednesday, Paul Di Resta and Daniil Kvyat seen as the outsiders alongside Pascal Wehrlein.
