Nico Rosberg thinks it is “very important”Sebastian Vettelfinds a way to turn his fortunes around, calling his mistakes “atypical” for a World Champion.

Vettel has enjoyed an illustrious career in Formula 1, winning four championships in the sport, but the past 12 months in particular have not been kind to him.

他努力的an impact last year with Ferrari’s well below-par power unit, falling to P13 in the drivers’ standings, and things have not got much easier since he made the move to Aston Martin.

The German has endured a pretty disastrous start for the team formerly known as Racing Point, with pre-season testing interrupted by issues with the car, while he onlyfinished P15 in the opening raceand suffered penalty points to add to his worries.

His fellow countryman Rosberg, though, is hoping to see Vettel return to form as soon as possible.

Speaking toSky Germany, he said: “I really wish it to Sebastian, that he comes out of this low, what he brought with Ferrari and now a little bit to the first race. Funnily enough, it surprised me that he also says that he still doesn’t feel comfortable in the car.

“But okay, it’s a new team and he needs a little time. But Sebastian has huge talent, this is a four-time World Champion, so he’ll be fine and I’m sure we’ll see some great races from him this year.

“But he has to find a way out of this negative spiral, that’s very, very important. We’ve seen another mistake just now, which is atypical for a four-time World Champion. That’s where he has to find his way out, that’s very important.”

2021 has seen the arrival of another German on the grid too, withMick Schumachercoming in from Formula 2 to join Haas.

他在F1,完成P16在巴林was bottom of the finishing drivers, but Rosberg feels he is doing well and should be given time before he is judged.

He added: “Mick deserves to be in Formula 1 completely because he dominated all the categories before that – including Formula 2 ultimately, where he became champion.

“It’s fun to watch him and he’s doing quite well. It’s important that we give him time, because Formula 1 is logically the top class, you don’t come in and dominate all at once.

“You have to give him time and he has that now, that he first learns everything: the car with the engineers, the setup, getting the most out of it in qualifying – you have to work your way into it and I think he will have a good future ahead of him.”
