马丁Brundleputs ‘full support’ behind Ted Kravitz in Red Bull fall-out

马丁Brundlehas given Sky Sports colleague Ted Kravitz his “full support” in the wake of Red Bull’s boycott of the channel in Mexico City.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull chose to not appear on the broadcaster over the weekend in Mexico after pit lane reporter Kravitz on his ‘Ted’s Notebook’ programme spoke about Lewis Hamilton and last season’s World Championship battle, saying the Mercedes driver had been “robbed” of the title.

Dutch reporter Jack Plooij believes Kravitz has been made a “scapegoat” in the boycott, and his words had been taken out of context due to the edits made to the show, but Verstappen and Red Bull team members did not give interviews to the channel all weekend in Mexico after taking umbrage to his comments.

But whileRed Bullare set to restart their media duties with the broadcaster at the next race in Brazil, Sky Sports analyst and pundit Brundle has spoken out in support of his long-time colleague – saying that speaking face to face will be the way to settle any differences.

“For the avoidance of doubt my friend and colleague for the past 26 years @tedkravitz has my full support,” Brundle posted on Twitter.

“Face to face dialogue is the only way to sort out issues and disputes in the relentless crucible of the F1 paddock. We all have opinions and different jobs to do, that’s life.”

Verstappen spoke of his irritation at the way his 2021 title win has been reported on Sky, hinting at Kravitz in particular.

“It had nothing to do with this weekend. But this year it’s been a constant… yeah, kind of like daily being disrespectful, especially one particular person. And it’s enough, I don’t accept it,” Verstappen said of Sky’s coverage after the race in Mexico.

“You can’t live in the past. You just have to move on. Social media is a very toxic place, and if you are constantly being like that live on TV, you make it only worse instead of trying to make it better.

“You keep disrespecting me, and at one point, I’m not tolerating it anymore. That’s why I decided to stop answering them.”
