Lance Stroll bluntly said “no” when asked by PlanetF1 if he would consider a move to one of F1’s big teams, such as Red Bull or Ferrari.

That is how much the Canadian believes in the Aston Martin project.

This season marks Stroll’s sixth in Formula 1, the driver having spent the first two with Williams before joining his father, Lawrence Stroll, at Racing Point which has subsequently been rebranded asAston Martin.

While the Canadian spent his first few seasons having to answer pay-driver questions, that again coming to the fore at the end of 2020 when he retained his race seat ahead of race winner Sergio Perez, Stroll has gone about showing the world he deserves his spot on the grid with three podium finishes and a pole position.

This year’s championship is the last on his current Aston Martin deal, Stroll one of 12 drivers out of contract at the end of this season.

But even if Red Bull or Ferrari came calling, he says he has no intention of looking for a race seat elsewhere.

“No,” he told PlanetF1 in a media call atthe launch of the AMR22. “I believe in this project.

“Yeah, I do, the new factory is coming up, a lot of people are coming on board. I think it’s great right here.”

Aston Martin spent the off-season recruiting new personnel and saying farewell to others.

Otmar Szafnauer left his role as team boss having been with them since October 2009, replaced by former BMW motorsport chief Mike Krack.

The team are also awaiting the arrival of new technical director Dan Fallows after a period of wrangling with his former employer, Red Bull.

Fallows, who is on gardening leave, will join Aston Martin in early April.

“It’s great to have Mike on board,”Strollsaid of his new team boss.

“今天我真的见过他第一次但his CV, his history he has had in motorsport, has been excellent and he’s a great addition to the team.

“I’m really excited to start working alongside him. He can really help us reach a lot of our goals and [is] a great member of the team.”

Krack stands by Aston Martin ‘will win’ comment

Mike Krack believes that Aston Martin will win races, but is unsure when.
