Haas team principal Guenther Steiner had few words of encouragement after another big crash for Mick Schumacher.
During the Monaco race, Schumacher would lose control of the Haas VF-22 going into the Swimming Pool section, hitting the barrier before slamming into the Techpro, which caused the rear-end of the car to detach from the chassis.
Fortunately, Schumacher walked away unharmed, not the first time this season that this has been said.
Back at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Schumacher smashed into the barriers during qualifying, with a similar level of damage caused to the car, but fortunately none to himself.
But withHaasnow facing another major repair bill, Schumacher’s boss Steiner was not happy.

“With Mick we obviously saw what happened,” Steiner said.
“It’s not very satisfactory having abig crashagain. We need to see how we move forward from here.”
Schumacher is still without a point this season and in his Formula 1 career, a worrying trend since he is being outperformed by his new team-mate for 2022 Kevin Magnussen, the Danish racer making a late return for Haas after testing following Nikita Mazepin’s dismissal.
Such was the chaos of the Monaco Grand Prix, TV cameras had not picked up Magnussen retiring from the race shortly before Schumacher’s crash, making for initial confusion when he was suddenly shown trackside looking towards Schumacher’s crash scene.
Steiner confirmed that a “water leak” had forced Magnussen to retire, a disappointing outcome after the 29-year-old had been showing good pace.
“It was a disappointing day today,” Steiner acknowledged.
“Kevin’s car was really fast, we were just waiting for our opportunity to pass [Valtteri] Bottas at the pit stop, either under or over cutting to get by him and chase the field. He could easily follow him.
“He then had an issue with a water leak on his ERS system.”
Next up is the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Schumacher will once again attempt to score his first point in Formula 1.
Magnussen meanwhile will set about adding to his current tally of15after that Monaco misfortune.
