Alpine boss suggests team principal search has not started yet
Bruno Famin has been in the Alpine hot seat for two months now.
Alpine interim team boss Bruno Famin has said they have yet to start the hiring process of a new team principal after Otmar Szafnauer’s sacking.
The former Aston Martin team principal was relieved of his duties ahead of the summer break after failing to agree an acceptable timeline for Alpine’s recovery.
In stepped Famin, who also serves as vice-president of the motorsport division, but he is only expected to stay in the role until the end of the year meaning a new boss will most likely come in.
Alpine focusing on internal fixes before looking elsewhere
而法拉利前老板Mattia Binottolinked with the Alpine vacancy, it appears the team is no closer to making a decision two months on from Szafnauer’s departure.
Speaking ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, Famin said he was still “assessing” the current employees before he looks elsewhere.
“I am still assessing everything,” he said. “I think we have a lot of good people in Enstone and Viry in our team and the track side team.
“For the time being, the priority is not finding somebody, it is trying to get the best of everybody.”
Famin has overseen three races since he stepped into the role with the team scoring 24 points in that time and the Frenchman already believes he has seen improvement with how they operate.

“I have already seen quite a lot of changes on the trackside team,” Famin said. “Different mindset, much more productivity, much better execution.
“I think it’s very good and at the factories I’m still assessing of course the situation, especially in Enstone, but we are all really focused in really trying to get the people all together as one team, of course in each of the factories, but also the two factories together in order to to free the whole energy on creativity.
“We have a lot of good people, we have a lot of potential. Our car has good potential, it’s up to us to show it on the track but this is what I’m working on.”
