Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has said with the “excellent people” at the team, “there is no reason why we should not do well in the years to come.”

The team principal is coming towards the end of his first season in charge of Aston Martin, having taken up the reigns once Otmar Szafnauer departed for Alpine.

Krack has been faced with a steep learning curve, joining in January when many of the decisions about the 2022 car had already been made and soon finding himself giving the green light to swap to a whole different design.

The switch has proved beneficial for the team with Aston Martin an average of 18 seconds quicker than they were at the opening race in Bahrain but there is still plenty of work to do to achieveowner’s Lawrence Stroll ambitious target.

The Canadian businessman has stated his dream to see the team fight for wins and World Championships and the investment gone into the project has shown he is willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Aston Martin have been working on a new factory and wind tunneland they also have been on a recruitment drive that has seen former Red Bull head of aerodynamics Dan Fallows, two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso and F2 World Champion Felipe Drugovich sign on.

Krack has praised the “excellent people” that now work for the team and stated his belief that there was “no reason why” they can not achieve their goals.

“Team Silverstone is something that I always looked at from the outside and I always thought this is really great,” Krack said during Aston Martin’s ‘At The Bar”系列,由Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0%。

“A great team, a great spirit and when I then joined, it struck me not only the spirit but also the warm welcome that I had.

“You could see they are all passionate, motivated people. They consider you as one element to help them to move on.

“Then if you come to the site and you see the big building, it gives you really an additional motivation because I think this team here they, for many, many years, did much much better than the possibilities [they should have had].

“And now you provide these possibilities and I think with the excellent people that we are have, there is no reason why we should not do well in the years to come.”

Krack is however not expecting sweeping changes but instead follows the mantra that if they work bit by bit, eventually “we get all the fruit of our work.”

“We need to improve year by year and we want to reach the top obviously,” he said. “It is easy to plan and there’s a lot of hard work.”

“I said it already, the reward of good results and improving is very, very, very motivating. So what we want to do is improve all the time.

“Every year, make the car better all the time and then at one point hopefully we get all the fruit of our work.”
