F1 rumours: Ferrari to celebrate iconic Le Mans victory with one-off Monza livery

Ferrari will reportedly be sporting a different look at the Italian Grand Prix as they celebrate their achievement at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Ferrari returned to the top Hypercar class after a 50-year absence for the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans event, and what happened next was rather unexpected.

与ex-Alfa罗密欧F1车手Antonio Giovinazzi James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi at the wheel, Ferrari would mark their triumphant return with victory, their first overall Le Mans win since 1965.

Ferrari to celebrate at Monza

It was an iconic achievement then for the Italian brand, who do not need to wait long before another milestone event of their racing year arrives, that being their Formula 1 home race, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

And as reported by well-respected Italian journalist Giuliano Duchessa, Ferrari will take to the Monza track with a revised livery to celebrate their achievement.

“Ferrari SF-23 in Monza will have a livery to honour the victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” Duchessa stated on social media.

Ferrari actually ran a special livery at last season’s Italian Grand Prix, their challenger carrying splashes of yellow to celebrate 75 years of their car company, while the Monza circuit was also celebrating its 100-year anniversary.

我们现在等待ee what Ferrari will come up with for the 2023 staging, but chances of that makeover yielding victory on home soil appear slim, considering the all-conquering dominance of Red Bull in F1 2023.

The series went into its summer shutdown off the back of Red Bull winning all 12 grands prix so far this season, plus the three sprint races for good measure, with Ferrari instead left to battle Mercedes, McLaren and Aston Martin for the ‘best of the rest’P2 spot.

Ferrari did take momentum into the summer break though as Charles Leclerc made the podium at Spa-Francorchamps, momentum which Ferrari will look to carry through into their home race weekend at Monza, from September 1-3, and beyond.
