It’s a busy weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, and the F1 results are in from the Sprint as rain began to fall just before the session started.

A hotly-contested Sprint Shootout in the morning saw the top three drivers on the grid separated by only 0.025s on a drying circuit at Spa-Francorchamps, with Max Verstappen edging clear of Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz.

The 15-lap dash around the famed Belgian circuit would follow with World Championship points up for grabs for the top eight finishers, eight points for the winner down to one for eighth place.

The start was understandably delayed as a downpour came over the circuit in the moments before the scheduled start, with drains overflowing at Eau Rouge.

But following several laps behind the Safety Car, the race was able to get underway and a stop for intermediates one lap before the race leader saw Piastri able to leapfrog Verstappen in the pits.

The Safety Car came back out after Fernando Alonso crashed out, with Verstappen able to close back up and get back past the McLaren driver once again.
