Formula 1 arrived at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit with heavy rain forecast for Friday’s action, which includes one practice session and the evening qualifying, while that should lighten up a little ahead of Saturday’s standalone sprint day.

The weather conditions will improve further on Sunday but rain is still forecast with suggestions that could be the leveller as Max Verstappen chases his eighth win on the trot, Red Bull’s 13th going back to last year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

With McLaren now leading the charge in the battle for second, behind Verstappen, there is an intriguing fight with four teams in it including Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Ferrari.
