亚历克斯Albon says his former Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is “always messaging” him with performance praise, but as for a Red Bull comeback, that is not currently on his agenda for the short term.

The Thai racer has though been back on the grid since 2022 in the colours of Williams, very much re-establishing his career with the team and earning a multi-year contract extension. Of the 15 points scored by Williams since Albon joined the team, he has claimed 11 of them.

It was Horner’s praise of Albon’s performance in Canada, where a defensive masterclass saw him score a P7 finish, which led to speculation that Horner could still have Albon on his radar for a return to Red Bull in the future.

And it would seem that Horner praising his former driver is not something out of the ordinary.

“Christian is always messaging me, telling me ‘good job’,” Albon told reporters, as per RacingNews365.com.

“It is always nice to have that relationship with an old team principal. It was a great weekend for us and it was obviously nice for Christian to say that.”

Such praise though is not about to turn Albon’s head at this stage, as he made it clear that Williams is his “main focus” and it will stay that way for some time to come.

That though does not mean to say that the situation will not change beyond these “next few years”.

“My main focus is with this team [Williams],” Albon stated. “This isn’t a short-term situation, I am here for the long run.

“I am really enjoying working with the team, being where I am. I feel like we are on a journey and I want to continue this journey.

“Let’s see how these next few years unfold. For now, very happy with where I am.”

Albon sits P12 in the currentDrivers’ Championshipstandings, having scored all seven of Williams’ points so far in F1 2023.
