Here are the complete results from the Sprint Shoot-out at the Austrian Grand Prix, ahead of Saturday’s Sprint race.

Max Verstappen set the pace in a frantic SQ2 in the Sprint Shoot-out, pipping Carlos Sainz by 0.063 seconds and quarter of a second clear of Alpine’s Esteban Ocon.

Knocked out was Mercedes’ George Russell in 15th, due to a hydraulic issue that requires a steering rack change on his W14 – adding to the team’s woes after Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in Q1.

Williams’ Alex Albon was eliminated in 11th, ahead of Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, and the AlphaTauri duo of Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries.

Sainz topped the times in the first SQ1 portion of the Sprint Shoot-out, putting in a tremendous one lap display right at the end of the session. He had suffered a brake-by-wire issue early on that prevented him from staying on track to figure out the slightly damp conditions.

While all the other drivers pounded around lowering their benchmarks, Sainz only came out on track with just a minute left to get in a single flying lap. Impressively, he went fastest of all to eclipse Verstappen’s time.

After having his fastest laptime deleted, Hamilton was the big scalp of SQ1 as the Mercedes driver was knocked out down in 18th place.

Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu, who spun early on in the session, was knocked out in 16th, as well as McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas, and Williams’ Logan Sargeant.
