Oscar Piastri lands himself in hot water following MotoGP British GP visit

奥斯卡Piastri will have to face the music when he gets home from his visit to the British Grand Prix, after posting a picture of himself on social media.

Both McLaren drivers, Piastri and Lando Norris, made the most of their first weekend off from F1 during the summer break by heading along to the MotoGP round at Silverstone for motorbike racing’s British Grand Prix.

Piastri was shown having a quick chat with Marc Marquez just before the race began, offering his best wishes to the rider, but the Australian later put up a post on social media that has gotten him in some trouble at home…

Oscar Piastri’s mother: ‘Oh no you don’t!’

Piastri climbed onboard one of Pramac Racing’s bikes, the Ducati of Johann Zarco, to pose for some pictures as he met the French racer and teammate Jorge Martin.

Posting on social media, Piastri wrote: “On a break from 4 wheels so thought I’d have a go at 2.”

But the post caught the attention of his mother, Nicole, who has made a name for herself on Twitter as a prolific poster in support of her son.

She made it very clear that her son will not be climbing onboard a MotoGP bike for a career, as long as she has any say in the matter!

“Oh no you don’t!!!” she said.

“Move away from the bike Oscar Jack Piastri. My heart can barely cope with cars.”

The post got plenty of good-humoured support from other users, with @laurabarr39 writing: “Your mother has spoken, get off the bike Oscar!”, while @PerryBrownF1 said: “The middle name has come out – I think you better listen to her, Oscar!”

The big reveal of Piastri’s full name led to great amusement, with @Formula1Wimbo laughing: “Oh oh….when the full name is yelled, you know you’re in trouble!”
