Sky F1 team in stitches as Martin Brundle conducts bizarre impromptu interview

Martin Brundle broke away from his planned TV coverage to interview an 89-year-old photographer who revealed she had been in the paddock for decades, before the Sky F1 team were left laughing when she asked him for a business card.

Brundle and the Sky team were reviewing the action from FP3 in Monaco, which had ended slightly early after Lewis Hamilton’s late crash brought out the red flags, before the ex-Formula 1 driver wanted to conduct an impromptu interview with the photographer, to find out her story.

And in speaking to Claudia Albuquerque, he found out she had been taking photos since the age of 15 and was still professionally in the Monaco paddock aged 89, and has no intention of stopping any time soon.

A heart-warming story of a long career, but what left Brundle’s Sky colleagues laughing after their pleasantries concluded was her pulling him in closer and saying to the former F1 driver: “I need your card…”

This was an unexpected ending to what had been a positive interview about her career, though presenter Simon Lazenby could not stop himself from being bent double at the shock of hearing Brundle seemingly being propositioned on camera.

Brundle’s grid walk interviews are the ones which have tended to go viral over the years, though while this one started innocently, it took something of a turn come the end of it.

The Sky F1 analyst had been walking the streets of Monaco for different vantage points of the most famous circuit on the Formula 1 calendar as part of the channel’s practice coverage, with Brundle getting a little close for comfort around the close confines of the barriers at the left-right flick of the Swimming Pool section and the downforce of the current cars in full effect.
