Here are the complete results from the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay, where a slow-burn race exploded into action in the closing stages.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has won from McLaren’s Lando Norris a hugely dramatic Singapore Grand Prix, weathering a high-pressure finale with the two Mercedes drivers coming at the leading cars on much fresher tyres.

A strategic gamble from Mercedes had Lewis Hamilton and George Russell storming back on the medium tyre against Sainz and Norris on older hard tyres, with the quartet of cars running nose to tail in the closing laps.

Adrenaline and drama the story of the Singapore Grand Prix

赢面控制整个开放的步伐ning half of the race as the Ferrari driver ensured Red Bull couldn’t benefit from starting on the hard tyre by controlling the field spread, the race came to life under a late Virtual Safety Car as Mercedes gambled on swapping to the medium tyres.

Sacrificing track position as a result, Russell and Hamilton quickly sliced their way back into third and fourth before setting off after Sainz and Norris up front. Latching on with five laps to go, Sainz showed his understanding of the situation by slowing to allow Norris use DRS as defence against the attacking Mercedes.

With the laps ticking by and the tension mounting, Russell threw everything at Norris but failed to get by – the British driver losing control on the final lap and crashing off into the barriers to award the final podium place to Hamilton.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished fourth, having lost out in the early pitstops due to a double stack that cost him time, while Max Verstappen was resigned to fifth. The Dutch driver had started on the hard tyre but was undone by the early Safety Car that meant he couldn’t make the most of the advantageous phase of the hard tyre. Swapping to the mediums with 20 laps to go managed to salvage a result.
