It is time to take a closer look at the Alpine A523 challenger

F1 2023 launch season is now complete with the reveal of the Alpine A523, and the team sure did not disappoint.

When it comes to the concept of saving the best for last, Alpine very possibly ensured that this rang true with their unveiling of the A523, a challenger that the team confirmed is below the weight limit and therefore thankfully brings some extra colour to the grid.

但是就像在2022年,高山没有在e livery to show us, as on top of their standard, striking blue and pink livery, the team also unveiled a predominantly pink design in conjunction with title sponsor BWT, this design to be used at the Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia rounds which will get the F1 2023 campaign underway.

So, without further ado, it is time to take an up-close look at the Alpine A523, both of them!

With the team setting themselves “aggressive targets” for the A523, and intent on retaining P4 in the Constructors’ Championship, Alpine are going to need another season of successful upgrades, and importantly, a solid base for them to build upon.

And so there are changes for the A523, Alpine firstly going with an altered front nose concept, allowing for more freedom when changing elements on the front wing and the team hope, creating better control of the airflow around the front suspension.

Alpine has sought a rather clean approach with the sidepods, the team looking to maximise the airflow to the rear of the car without clutter.

The team has also abandoned the pull-rod rear suspension in favour of a push-rod system, which the team say has allowed them “to take an awful lot of weight off the rear of the car.”

Alpine has also worked to modify the beam link on the rear wing which they hope will allow for a less draggy and more efficient rear wing.

And now onto the pink A523 which we will see at the first three rounds of the 2023 season.

We are glad that it is not quite a one-off livery and we will get to see this version of the A523 for multiple rounds, as this design is arguably even more stunning than the standard blue and pink.

Last season Alpine’s BWT-inspired pink livery ran for the opening two rounds, so it is great to hear that this time, the new and improved version will be sticking around for a little longer.

We will not need to wait too long to see this beauty in action, the A523 one of 10 challengers that will line-up on the grid in Bahrain for the first grand prix of the season on March 5, with Alpine’s new driver pairing of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon at the respective wheels.

Alpine will be hoping to start the campaign in style as they look to take crucial steps closer to Formula 1’s front-runners, with Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes expected to be the teams to beat.
